The purpose of the census is to provide a comprehensive profile of peer support workers workforce working within mental health services across England.
The census will provide details of the size of the workforce, its levels of training and education, and its diversity in terms of age, gender, ethnicity, and disability status.
The scope will include all peer support workers staff working in NHS commissioned services within NHS mental health trusts, independent, and voluntary sectors in England.
