New for 2025! Learning Disability and Autism Workforce Census!
The 2025 Workforce Census for Learning Disability and Autism Workforce opens for data collection on Monday 13th October. Join us for the launch event on MS Teams on Wednesday 15th October at 10am.
Throughout the data collection period, we are hosting weekly drop-in sessions to support participants. The dates and joining links can be found on the project page.
Why should I participate?
By submitting your data, you will contribute to a comprehensive national report hosted on the NHS England webpages. This report plays a crucial role in supporting workforce planning and transformation efforts, ultimately helping to strengthen the current and future workforce and improve the quality of care for patients.
Scope
NHS Trusts who operate mental health and/or community services, Local Authorities, VCSE (Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise), ICBs, and Independent Sector organisations who provide NHS commissioned Learning Disability and Autism services, within any of the following services:
Community Forensic Teams
Intensive Support Teams
Community Learning Disability Teams
Key Working Function
Community Paediatrics
All-Age Autism Assessment Pathways
All Age ADHD
All Age Neurodevelopmental Team
Crisis Houses
Crash Pads
Dynamic Support Register/ Care (Education) Treatment Reviews
Primary care and SEND provision are excluded from the scope of this census.

Participants will receive access the Data Explorer, a new secure online tool! The Data Explorer features a range of data visualisations, allowing users to explore their own responses in the context of national, regional and ICS data.
